Privacy Policy

Kinscraft, a product of Sweet Blue Ventures LLC ("we", "us"), helps families capture and preserve the stories of their loved ones. This policy describes what we collect, why, and what choices you have. We try to keep this in plain English.
What we collect
- Account info — your email address. We use Supabase Auth for sign-in.
- Family content — names, dates of birth, audio recordings, transcripts, and photos that you upload or that we generate from your conversations.
- Recording metadata — when calls happened, who participated, and consent timestamps.
- Device info — a push notification token so we can tell you when memories are ready.
- Diagnostics — basic logs (request paths, error stacks). We do not log audio or transcript content.
How we use it
- To provide the service: transcribe, segment, and store your conversations; render books and movies.
- To send notifications about your account and the conversations you record.
- To diagnose and fix problems with the app.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your data, and we use no advertising trackers or pixels. We share data only with the service providers that operate Kinscraft — cloud hosting, transcription, payments, and the like — and we require each of them to handle your data only to provide their service to us, and to protect it accordingly.
The complete, current list of providers and what each one does is published at kinscraft.com/subprocessors.
Recording consent
Many places (including California, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Washington in the US) require all parties to a recorded conversation to consent. Kinscraft is designed around this: every video and audio call presents a consent screen to the storyteller before they join, and in-person mode prompts the host to obtain verbal consent before recording starts.
You are responsible for obtaining valid consent from anyone you record. We log when consent screens were acknowledged, but we cannot verify whether real-world verbal consent was given. Do not record someone who has not agreed to be recorded.
Your rights
- Access and export — your memories, audio, and family data are visible inside the app at any time. Email us if you want a bulk export.
- Delete — Settings → Delete account permanently removes your account and all family data we hold for you. This cannot be undone.
- Correction — you can edit memory transcripts and titles in the app; for other corrections email us.
- EU/UK residents — you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
- California residents — under the CCPA you have the right to know what we collect, to delete it, and not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights.
Data retention
We retain your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, family content is removed within 30 days. Backups are overwritten within 90 days.
Children
Kinscraft is intended for adults (18 and over). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used Kinscraft, contact us and we will delete the data.
Changes
If we make material changes to this policy we will let you know in the app and update the date above before the changes take effect.
