Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and Sweet Blue Ventures LLC, the company behind Kinscraft. They govern your use of Kinscraft; by creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.

Who can use Kinscraft

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. If you're recording someone else's stories (a parent, grandparent, or other relative), you confirm that they understand they are being recorded and have given consent.

Your account

You are responsible for the security of your account credentials. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

Recording and consent

Two-party consent for recorded conversations is required by law in many jurisdictions. Kinscraft prompts the storyteller to consent before joining a video or audio call, and prompts the host to obtain verbal consent before in-person recording starts. You are solely responsible for ensuring valid consent is obtained from every person you record. Do not use Kinscraft to record anyone without their knowledge or against their wishes.

Content ownership

You retain ownership of the conversations, transcripts, and photos you create or upload. You grant Kinscraft a non-exclusive license to store, process, and display your content solely to provide the service to you and your family — to transcribe, segment, render books and movies, and let other family members you've invited see and contribute. We do not use your content to train AI models.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Kinscraft to:

• Record anyone without their consent.
• Upload content that violates someone else's rights or applicable law.
• Attempt to access another family's data or interfere with the service.
• Use automated tools to scrape or extract data beyond your own family's content.

Subscriptions and payments

If you purchase a subscription or one-time deliverable (book, movie), the price and terms will be presented to you at the time of purchase. Subscription and movie purchases in the mobile app are processed through the app stores via RevenueCat. Gift purchases on the web are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions auto-renew unless cancelled before the end of the current period. Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are subject to those stores' refund policies and must be requested through them. For purchases made on our website, contact us within 14 days for refund consideration; we evaluate case by case.

Service changes

We may add, change, or remove features. We will not remove access to your existing memories or family data without notice and a chance to export.

Disclaimer

Kinscraft is provided "as is." Transcription and segmentation are produced by third-party AI services and may contain errors — review and edit before printing. We do not guarantee any specific quality of book or movie output.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Kinscraft's total liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100, whichever is greater. We are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

Termination

You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes must be brought in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.

Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced in-app before they take effect.
